does judgment make problems disappear?
the universe is a giant puzzle
judgment looks at some pieces of the puzzle
and says “that doesn’t belong here”
look back over all the years of your life
and think of all your judgments
which thing ceased to exist?
where are the changes and improvements to your life?
the problem with the leopard
is that he never changes his spots
when you pass judgment against the leopard
your suffering increases in two ways
1) everything you do battle against becomes stronger
because that is the lesson enemies teach each other
2) judgment causes you to have inner conflict
because you begin to expect the change which never happens
when you pass judgment
you enter a constant state of agitation and misery
because the changes you want never happen
“No” is like banging your head against the side of the mountain to change the shape of it.
eventually your head starts to hurt
the universe is born in mutual arising
all pieces rise up together
all life is born in this way
the influence from this
is the growth of that
this happens to a trillion things simultaneously
the trillion things had a great influence on the creation of
you
so which thing didn’t influence you?
which one can truly say no to?
“I don’t like the lion…”
maybe the lion taught you to have hands
because he forced you to climb the trees
it’s clear that your enemies had a powerful influence on you
because all of a nature reveals that enemies teach improvement to each other
all are students
all are teachers
to each other
this is 4 billion years deep
and more
respect for your enemies is respect for yourself
when you lose respect for your enemies
you lose respect for one of your greatest teachers
if you don’t respect your teachers
can you learn the lessons?
if you say no to your teachers
you say no to understanding yourself
and you increase your personal suffering
at the deepest level
your heart and body understand what your mind forgets:
enemies elevate you
they force you to try even when you don’t want to

you can’t remove the source of every wound
what you really need
is to learn to heal your old wounds
and understand the reason
all things move as they do
when you try to change
what can’t be changed
the conflict is within you
relax your body
and your mind follows
relax your mind
and your mind is open and ready
serenity is deeply rooted in reality
reality says yes to all things
the universe says yes to all things

how did they get here?
the universe feeds the cat and the sparrow
the spider and the tree
the eagle and the rabbit
the enemies on both sides of the war
